The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast menu was very good, the staff were very friendly, and the pub/bar had a very good range of options. The location is also very good as it is close to very nice restaurants, farmers' market (on two days of the week) and several nice walks. The hotel also offers parking and they let us leave our car for a couple of hours after checking out.
In the centre of Lyme Regis, just 150 metres from the beach, the Royal Lion Hotel has a pool, sauna and games room. Some rooms have sea views and balconies.

This is a lovely Victorian building in a quiet, rather secluded location close to Lyme Regis and Charmouth seafronts. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was cozy, clean and comfortable and the tea, coffee biscuits are replenished every day (and they provide fresh milk in a thermos - which is nice). The food (which you have to order well in advance) was tasty and freshly prepared. The outdoor pool is large enough for a proper swim (although it's freezing when you first get in) and I had it to myself on both mornings as the hotel was quite quiet when we stayed. The only thing I didn't like was that they (mostly) only cater for residents so they keep the front door locked and you have to ring them to let you in and you only get one room key - which was a bit inconvenient when my husband went for a run and used the pool and I had to come down and let him in when he came back. Overall, a very nice stay. Thank you.
