I cycled to this location not knowing what to expect and needing sanctuary after a very challenging few days in the mountains. Everything, EVERTHING was superb. They even let me house my bicycle at the bar after all clients had left so it could stay safe and dry. Such a great visit

Very nice and friendly staff. Good bed and good breakfast. If you need to catch the train the location is great.

Scotland is a land of plenty - mountains, sea, hiking, historical places. I am a "water" person. Arbroath was the last point of our trip and I found it very relaxing. Shore views outstanding. Sea food - perfect.

Arbroath is in a lovely setting between the glens and the sea. We enjoy the quiet ambiance and the walkability. Be sure to have a meal at Smithies and when it reopens at Vintealicious. Both on Port Street, near the train station. Another good place to eat is the Esk Cafe in Glen Esk.

Arbroath has interesting working harbour and 13th century ruined abbey where declaration of Arbroath was produced. Plenty of good fish and chip shops and excellent sea food restaurant on the harbour. Amazing Lunan beach great for walks 7 miles north of town amidst delightful countryside.

Arbroath is a lovely place & we enjoyed walks to the harbour & along the clifftops. Apartment is conveniently near the shops & Wotherspoons (The Corn Exchange) where we ate frequently. Having supermarkets nearby & a nice kitchen meant we could also just eat at home when we wanted. Great having a private parking space & we took the car to Montrose & Stonehaven.

We enjoyed walking the coastal path and using buses or train to return from destinations Auchmithie and Carnoustie. Wide choice of eateries. Note some close Monday Tuesday. High street could use attention from Council as could many but less prominent letting boards and use of windows to direct visitors to history podcasts online and show historical or current pictures of rich geography and heritage of town would make things look much better.
Location was perfect as we travelled to Arbroath, Montrose, St Andrews and Dundee. The host (Jules) was exceptional and sent us details of places to visit, eat etc.. prior to our visit.
We enjoyed it so much there we booked another stay before we left. Sunrise at Lunan Beach is a must and definitely a place we will visit often to make memories.
Lovely hotel, staff were very helpful and friendly, food was great. Only downside was the noise from the seagulls at 2am.
Would certainly stay here again. Ps. there was earplugs supplied for the noise but I can't wear them as they irritate my ears,
We have used this apartment several times now and the boys are always happy when we manage to get it booked. Its their favourite place to stay in Arbroath. Very spacious, clean and cant fault the hosts.
Highly recommend. The bothy is great, it was clean, comfortable, and had all the facilities we needed. Really nice setting, with outdoor space, and a good location for visiting Lunan Bay and Arbroath.
