It was lovely and unique—cross between fine restaurant, art gallery, boutique and hotel. Staff very accommodating. Felt like a resort! Loved that they catered to people with dairy and gluten allergies.

Tarifa is a mixture of holiday apartments, residential apartments and the old town plus a port where ferry goes to Tangiers. It is best known for kitesurfing as it is often windy and a long sandy beach. It is also a superb location to use as a base for watching bird migration and there is a bird observatory (Cazella) above the town off the main road towards Algiceras. There are plenty of little shops as well as supermarkets and bars. The old town is lovely, but some of the bars are overpriced. A beer in a backstreet taverna is 2 euros, but one bar in the old town charged me 4.5 (La Fabrica). Some good ice cream shops! Tarifa is geared towards tourists especially kitesurfers.

Tarifa has one of the best beaches I've been to.
Tarifa has one of the best beaches I've been to. Large, with fine sand, clean and easy entry into the water. Due to the winds, the area is good for water sports (kite surfing, etc), not so much for swimming, due to the waves. Good position to watch the sun set into the sea.
Great place to chill at a bar nearby the beach, eat ice cream, have dinner.
Tarifa is also very close to Morocco, a short ferry ride away from Tangier. Highly recommend the trip if you have the opportunity.

Great little town, the beach full of kite surfers when we arrived & was a sight to see. Very sweet small old town, clean, cute shops, excellent eateries including Powerhouse bakery & dinner at Axta- superb! Very walkable, views for sunset over the sea, Morocco in the distance. Low key in feb & most enjoyable.

Tarifa is a very unique place with a super relaxed and good vibe. If you want to explore the coast line it's a great base, easy to park cars outside the old town walls. There are various dunes and historic sites to visit within 1 hour of the city as well as view points from various locations with unbeatable views of the coastline and seeing Morocco which is pretty special. For eating, there is an amazing Italian Restaurant highly recommended called La Trattoria. I am Italian and the pasta was very good quality for Spain. There are also lovely restaurants beyond the port along the beach and in the area just outside the old town walls towards this direction. It is easy to walk around the city and there is plenty of shopping in boutique shops as well as surfer/sports shops. Huge amount of water sports activities on offer too.
Great spacious apartment close to the beach and old town. We stayed here for four weeks while working online. The bed is a bit small, but it's very comfortable and fine for a couple. The kitchen is very well equipped. Nice rooftop to watch the sunset from. Unfortunately it was still too cold for the pool to be in use. The host and his father-in-law were very hospitable and helped us whenever needed.
Brilliant locations so central yet quiet. Fantastic roof top terrace. Really clean and comfortable. This is our new go to for visits to tarifa. Cannot believe its star rating as it is as good as many 4 start hotels. Does what it says on the tin, lovely little boutique hotel. Brilliant air con too and the breakfast was typical Spanish, just what you want to start your day.
The hotel was very near (walkable) to old town Tarifa. The rooms were clean, comfortable, modern and a good size. The spa was an added bonus and would recommend the massages.
Atmospheric property and room in a quiet cobbled street in the old town of Tarifa with shared kitchen and communal areas like lobby, patio and roof terrace. Good vibes.
