On this day tour, youâll get to visit three castles in South Wales, followed by a drive through the Brecon Beacons National Park and a visit to the town of Brecon. Firstly, you'll visit Cardiff Castle, gaining insights into its historical importance during the Roman occupation of Wales.
Next, youâll visit Castell Coch, also known as the âfairytale castleâ because of its tapered turrets and conical roofs. As you explore the medieval castle, youâll discover that it was built in the 1870s as a country retreat for the third Marquess of Bute. Additionally, youâll stop at the 13th-century Caerphilly Castle â one of the largest castles in Britain.
Later, youâll get driven through the scenic Brecon Beacons National Park, before stopping at the picturesque town of Brecon. Here, you can visit the Brecon Cathedral or walk alongside the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal.
