On this tour, you'll get to enjoy solar viewing and the incredible nighttime skies in Hilo. The tour will include a visit to Rainbow Falls and Kaumana Caves where you will be served a picnic-style lunch.
You will get to observe various solar phenomena through a solar telescope and enjoy the nighttime skies from one of the best stargazing spots in Mauna Kea. If weather permits, you will be able to see planetary objects through a large aperture Dobsonian telescope. Before heading back to your hotel, you will be served coffee, hot chocolate and dessert.

This tour is not fully accessible for wheelchair users. Participants have to climb a few stairs to get in and out of the vehicle on their own. It is possible to store a wheelchair in the back of the van if needed.
This tour does not visit Mauna Kea’s summit or Visitor Center out of deference to Native Hawaiian customs.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a light jacket.
