Redondo is a charming town located in the Alentejo region of Portugal with a rich history, renowned for its vibrant ceramic and winemaking industries. Redondo is only 35 minutes away from Évora by car, making it a perfect half-day trip from Évora.
Our tour commences at the heart of Redondo, the Praça da República/Town Square. From this central point, we will walk to the Wine Museum (Museu Regional do Vinho), which showcases the rich winemaking heritage of the region.
Continuing our journey, we will make our way to the Clay Museum (Museu do Barro). Here we will delve into Redondo’s renowned pottery industry (Clube UNESCO Olaria Tradicional de Redondo), from prehistory to the present.
Next, we will stroll the charming streets of Redondo’s Historic Centre. Here you will have a chance to admire the traditional whitewashed houses, the Castle of Redondo, and the Torre de Menagem.
