Duration: 3 hours

This round-trip boat tour will take you into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean to spot up to 28 species of whales and dolphins, as well as turtles, seabirds and other marine species.

You'll start in the capital's harbour, where you'll learn about the rules of observation out at sea and get a safety briefing from your biologist guides. You'll then hear about the individual species of cetaceans you may see in the waters surrounding the Azores, before you raise anchor and set sail.

Over the next few hours, you'll stand a good chance of watching pods of bottlenose or common dolphins breaching the waters, as well as sperm, fin, blue and minke whales diving into the inky depths. Seasonal marine life include pilot whales and even orca on rare occasions.
