On this tour of the Loulé Rock Salt Mine, you'll head 755 ft underground to discover the sights and history of a working mine. Led by a knowledgeable guide, you'll travel along a 0.8 mi route through the mine's galleries, viewing the striking rock walls and geological formations dating back around 230 million years.

You'll get to see ancient and modern machinery and learn how the mining process evolved and how rock salt is used. Your tour will include a look at an art exhibition charting the life of Saint Barbara – patron saint of miners –through works by contemporary artist Klaus Zylla.
