At the Larco Museum, you can step back in time to discover Peru’s distant past. At the beautiful museum – situated inside an 18th-century colonial mansion – you’ll find a diverse range of exhibits, with artefacts dating back up to 5000 years.
You can view one of the finest collections of ancient Peruvian gold and silver in the world and other interesting items like erotic art. As you make your way through the galleries set out in chronological order, you’ll gain an overview of pre-Incan history and see how famous sites like Cusco, the Nazca Lines, Machu Picchu and the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon influenced Peruvian culture.
