On this guided tour, you will visit the Rotorua Lakes District to enjoy the scenic natural landscapes and see four lakes. The highlight of the tour will be a visit to Lake Tarawera, which serves as the backdrop for Mount Tarawera.
After meeting your guide, you will first visit Lake Okareka, which is a small lakeside community. It also has a bird sanctuary. Then, you will visit Lake Tikitapu or the Blue Lake.
Next, you will pass the most sacred lake in the region, Lake Rotokakahi, and the buried village of Te Wairoa. Before the tour ends, you will visit Lake Tarawera to soak in breathtaking views of Mount Tarawera. Throughout the tour, your guide will share information about Maori Migration, early European settlement and volcanic eruptions in the region.
