Chacchoben Mayan Ruins is the most popular and visited attraction for a day in Costa Maya. It is approximately 50 minutes drive from Costa Maya Port. This site is just a few kilometers from the village of Chacchoben from which it's name derive. The translation of the Mayan word Chacchoben refers to The Place Of The Red Corn. The structures at this site are characterized by large temples and massive platforms dated from 700 AD.
