Our mission is to promote the wellbeing of both our guests and our horses, aligning with the principles of sustainability.
We are dedicated to preserving Japan’s cultural heritage, particularly the ancient art of yabusame (horseback archery), which is less practiced in modern times. By sharing these traditions with guests from around the world, we strive to keep this important part of our history alive.
Barikiya plays a crucial role in animal welfare by providing retired horses with a second career in tourism. In Japan, horses often face limited options after retirement. By offering them a new purpose, we essentially save their lives while allowing them to thrive in a healthy environment.
When you participate in our activities, you are not just enjoying an unforgettable experience, you are also directly contributing to the wellbeing of these magnificent animals. Together, we can preserve tradition, promote sustainability, and create a meaningful connection between humans and horses.
