On this tour, youâll head to Mount Etnaâs summit, accompanied by a volcanology guide. The tour will start with a short briefing, followed by a cable car and four-by-four ride to reach an altitude of 2,900 m above sea level.
Upon arrival at Torre del Filosofo, youâll ascend the final 400 m to the summit on foot. Across two hours, youâll cross lava fields and learn of ancient and recent eruptions until you reach the summit craters. After spending time here, youâll descend on foot through sand, cross a channel of lava flow and see some other craters. The tour will conclude with a cableway ride back down the mountain.
