On this tour, you’ll learn about a few of the specialties grown and processed in Assisi while taking in views of the countryside. First, you’ll visit a facility where balsamic vinegar is produced. You’ll get to see the caratelli (keg for processing balsamic vinegar) and explore the balsamic aging facility and the olive groves.
The next leg of the tour will take you to a winery, where you’ll witness the production steps like pressing and bottling. As you tour the vineyards, you’ll learn about the contrast between organic and conventional farming. To top off the tour, you’ll attend a guided tasting to experience the balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and organic wines, all paired with refreshments like hot bruschette, cheese, salami and homemade biscotti.
