On this guided tour from Trieste, you’ll explore Grotta Gigante and Castello di Duino.
You'll start your adventure at Grotta Gigante, a massive underground cave where you’ll discover mystical stalactite formations. At 130 metres long and 107 metres tall, the cave is believed to be one of the largest in the world. You can then head to Castello di Duino, a 14th-century castle perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Trieste.
Inside the fortress, you can learn about the Princes of Torre and Tasso, view historical artifacts and climb the elegant Palladio staircase. Before returning to Trieste, you’ll descend below the castle to explore a bunker built in 1943 by the Kriegsmarine.
