The Glacier Discovery tour takes you on a journey towards a majestic glacier ice fall. After a short 4x4 super-jeep drive that brings us very close to the glacier, we will put our crampons on, arm ourselves with ice axes and start our hike up the glacier.
The tour is designed for those looking for an in depth glacier hike in Iceland. During this glacier hike your guide will teach you about the geology, geography and history of the local area, as well as pointing out some of the fascinating features of the ice. The glacier surface and colour changes constantly depending on the time of year and features such as Moulins, glacier cones and crevasses come and go.
The landscape is one of constant motion, but one thing never changes; what an incredible experience it is to go glacier hiking in Iceland.
