Udaipur was the capital of the Kingdom of Mewar. This touch of royalty is visible even in the ‘Garden of the Maidens’ that was designed by a Rajput King, Maharana Sangram Singh and gifted to his queen when she brought with her an entourage of 48 young women attendants as part of her dowry.
