This full-day tour will offer you the opportunuity to experience the Meteora – a complex of Eastern Orthodox monasteries built on rock pillars overlooking a valley in central Greece. Of the original 24 monasteries that were built over the centuries, only six remain open.
During your time in the area, you'll have a chance to visit two of the six remaining monasteries, which can be accessed by climbing staircases and pathways cut into the cliffs. Once at the top, your guide will share fascinating stories about the structures and their history as you take in Byzantine frescoes and other religious art.
Afterwards, you'll head to the nearby town of Kalabaka to have lunch and explore before returning to Thessaloniki.

Appropriate clothing is required to enter the monasteries. Ladies should wear long sleeves and refrain from wearing short skirts. Men are not permitted to wear shorts.
