During the 19th century, Hermoupolis, its capital, was the major commercial, financial and industrial center of Greece, also known as the «Manchester of the Mediterranean»!

This is why, in one part of the city there are neoclassical, impressive buildings of the bourgeois class, while in the other half, you can walk through an amazing industrial wasteland, full of tanneries, warehouses, textile factories, Neorio shipyard and working class neighborhoods.

During this walking tour you will:

# walk along the ruins of many 19th century factories and get to know the family stories of the people that owned them,
