Becho community lies in Dolra river valley in the bottom of gorgeous Ushba mountain. There are many legends connected with Ushba mount, like goddess of hunting Dali was living in the rocks on the slopes of Ushba.
Actual trail starts in Shikhra valley from travelers cafe, on altitude 1600 meters above the sea level. Until bridge on the Dolra, where is border police post trail goes through forest and hike is easy. It is also possible to approach border police by horses. After police trail is good only for hiking. From that point until waterfalls is only 1.5 km hike. Maximal altitude here is approximately 2200 meters.
From waterfalls trail continues to Ushba glacier but this part is not easy hike anymore. Ushba glacier trek is one of the hardest in Mestia region. more than 500 meters elevation gain on very steep rocky trail and amazing views to mountains Ushba, Shkhelda, Mazeri and Svaneti range. This trail should be done ONLY in very good weather, otherwise it is not safe.
