Within the Llanganates National Park bordering the Sangay National Park at the door of the Amazon. Climbing the Tungurahua Volcano is relatively easy but due to its shape, strong weather conditions, there are 2 things that prevent you from reaching the summit. Weather and Physical Condition.
The tour starts at 1PM. In the morning in Baños. We travel with our private transport for 20 minutes to Pondoa (2650m). Then we will start with a walk of approximately 3 to 4 hours from Pondoa to the Tungurahua Refuge (3800m). And we will be able to observe the wonderful surroundings. We can hear the sounds of the volcano, from the refuge. and we stay 1 night in the refuge to climb at 2 am to the top, which will take 3 to 4 hours to ascend to the top and 2 to 3 hours to descend.
