Wengen is a lovely car-free mountain town at 1274m altitude. It's located on a big cliff between Lauterbrunnen and Männlichen so the views are just stunning.
The route I have chosen will take us to the charming old part of town. This is where the first residents of Wengen settled, now a small habitat of a few farms, about 30 minutes from the center. This place will show us the true beauty of the Swiss countryside full of cheeses from local farmers and cows. We will visit the most important and picturesque places in the area known only to the locals.
However, views are not everything - we will pass a local farm, where we will have opportunity to buy ice cream, cheese and cold cuts directly from the farmer. There are various animals in this area that we might meet - such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, goats and, of course, cows grazing everywhere along our trail.
