The owner left some "welcome" ice cream in the freezer and then brought a watermelon he had grown in his garden as a welcome gift. Nice touch. Big supermarket store right next door - food, drinks, medicines etc. (cash only). Great location - close to major Katsuki attractions, not long drive to Beppu. The host is very friendly and helpful. At the end of the stay, he gave us a tour of Kitsuki samurai residences which was a great bonus. Thank you, sir, it was much appreciated. I highly recommend to stay here if you're visiting Kitsuki, Beppu or nearby areas.

The two ladies checking us in were genuinely wonderful and really contributed to us enjoying our stay- thank you! We discussed dinner options and they made us a reservation. The gentleman at check out the next day was also very pleasant. Breakfast was better than a business hotel and was being replenished frequently. The facilities were exceptionally clean. Our room was advertised as compact, which it was but my daughter and I could share the bed and as we had carry on it wasn’t a problem. Perhaps some foreign travellers may struggle but we were perfectly fine. I felt safe alone with my daughter. Double glazed windows kept the sound out from the road which we really appreciated.
